We were intrigued when Mendocino Farms brought their fresh, local, and amazing sandwiches and salads to the Pruneyard in San Jose. Then they added a location in Santana Row, making it closer to us. Next up, Mendocino Farms is adding locations in San Mateo (mid-March!) and San Francisco, officially making this our new addiction. (Sacramento will see one open later this year, too.)
Here’s what we love: yes, each location is really pretty with a unique design, but the food is out of this world. It’s fresh and tasty, with options to work around dietary issues. It is possible to get a low carb meal without regrets at a place serving up mouth watering sandwiches. Or go with a full out old school pastrami on rye.
There are plenty of kid food options, too, including PB and locally-made J. Also, the soda fountain is cane sugar-based, for those who hate watching their kids gulp down neon orange drinks.
