2016 Ornament Additions to Our Memory Tree

Every year, we get at least one new ornament to symbolize something special about our year. It’s helped our tree become one of memories, rather than Target-purchased ornaments (though, we have those, too). It’s become one of my most favorite traditions.

This year, we picked up two while in Europe. Vincent van Gogh holding sunflowers is a keychain, but I loved him when I spotted him in the Van Gogh Museum gift shop in Amsterdam. He was too big to be a functional keychain for me, making him a much better ornament.


Disneyland Paris had a full Christmas shop at the base of Sleeping Beauty Castle, despite it being the middle of summer. I’ve even kept the price tag on for the full sentimental effect (12 Euros).
