A Meaningful Mother’s Day Gift at the Touch of a Button

hym-logo-61578d24cd6bff7cea9e90263f215d5eYou may remember last year, when we recommended a simple, but touching Mother’s Day gift that gives public props to your mom, while helping other mothers to have safe deliveries and medical care. Guess what? It’s happening again! San Francisco-based Samahope is again running its #HonorYourMom campaign that funds doctors performing desperately needed medical care for mothers in developing countries while allowing you to tell the world why your mom rocks.

It’s the easiest gift, really, because all you need to do is find a photo of you and your mom, upload it to the Honor Your Mom website with some words about why your mom is super special (it could even be an Instagram video), then make a donation to go along with the card. Samahope will take care of the rest, making a personalized page for the world to see honoring your mom, sending off a physical card in the mail because everyone loves to get mail and moms love to carry around something they can humblebrag about to their friends, and will pass along the funds to doctors performing critical medical help.

It may feel like the last minute before Mother’s Day, but this gift won’t reveal that you waited before finding that perfect gift. The physical card may arrive after the day, but think of it as an added surprise. The holiday that keeps giving.

Need some ideas on how best to honor your mom? Check out the gallery of moms, then start digging for that old photo when your mom was big into 1980s fashion. The world needs to see it.
