Calling all science-loving families! An incredible Science & Astronomy Festival is happening this Saturday in San Mateo, for a day of science demonstrations, astronomy workshops, drop-in crafting and tinkering workshops, and skill sharing. Best of all: it’s FREE!
The College of San Mateo is hosting the events with lectures and demos on topics in astronomy, biology, chemistry, geology, plus planetarium shows throughout the day as part of on-going drop-in activities. Among the activities are a Lego Seismic Shake Table demonstration, how a telescope works, meteors, planets, gravity and black holes.
The Makerspace will include hands-on activities, including jewelry making, kite building, terrarium making, 3D printing, and solar car making. The day will be capped off with jazz under the stars.
The fun begins at 2 p.m., running through 11 p.m. All ages are welcome.
