It’s High Time for Cherry Addiction

We have three full bags of cherries in our refrigerator right now because we cannot get enough of these guys. I’m starting to have summer fruit panic because this is clearly fruit’s high time of the year, but I’m worried we haven’t gotten enough of them before the peak is over. Behind the bowl of cherries is a cherry ale. As I said, we’re in deep here, people. We are all in when it comes to cherries.

Whole Foods treated us a sweet gift bag with seasonal flavors recently that included some cherries. As if I needed to know what they tasted like, because it was really our second bag of cherries that week. They also gave us some house-made deviled eggs and a bottle of Reyneke Vinehugger, an organic South African wine. Both were awesome, but came in second to the bag of cherries. Other than being made at the store, the cool thing about the deviled eggs is that they offer optional flavors. Ours had been seasoned with curry – or what really tasted like curry – and while I didn’t think my kids would go for it at all because they’d never had deviled eggs, they ate the whole tray of them! It’s so awesome when kids try something new and despite being super cautious, they fall in love.

We have Rainier cherries in the house right now that are calling my name!

Thank you to the Redwood City Whole Foods for the adorable gift bag with sweet treats that we loved.
