Ride the Bus as Part of SamTrans Family Friendly Open House

1898158_787310767962871_1689591505_nThis weekend event at SamTrans looks great for those younger kids enamored with big vehicles. For this Saturday’s public open house, we say grab some popcorn (they’ll be giving some away!) and take your kids for a bus ride, a bus wash (it puts the drive thru car wash to shame), and a chance to meet transit police with a K9 unit during a behind-the-scenes tour of the SamTrans facilities in San Carlos.

First, tour the SamTrans headquarters on San Carlos Ave., then jump on a new hybrid bus for a short ride to the South Base bus facility to watch the maintenance and cleaning of the bus fleet. The South Base tours leave every 20 minutes.

The event is built to be family friendly, including popcorn and lemonade. It runs from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. There is free parking in the garage behind SamTrans, off Walnut Avenue.
