Engineer Week Activities Happening Now at The Tech

eweekIt’s engineer week or month, as some engineering groups are staking claim to a full four weeks. While we didn’t know this week was special, we’ll take any excuse to celebrate engineering and the engineers around us (and that is a lot of people).

Engineer Week wraps up with three days of fun activities at The Tech Museum. This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, The Tech is running special programs to highlight the excitement of engineering, including: Techsabers and Skywalker Writing (LED lightsabers and hovercrafts)Ewok Escape (engineer an escape vehicle to help the Ewoks escape the Storm Troopers)and Light Up My Heart (a Rube Goldberg design challenge). In addition on Saturday will be RoboTheater, where kids can program a human robot to perform.

The activities are free with admission, and are a great option for those getting a little stir crazy on winter break. Each program runs about two hours.
