San Carlos is hosting it’s annual Week of the Family, with nine days of fun activities designed for family interaction. The nine day event (just a week bit over a week) is intended to strengthen family relationships and reaffirm the city as family oriented. It includes a ro-sham-bo event, cooking school, films, geocaching, and more, with most events free of charge.
Someone must have pulled some strings because Monday, Jan. 27 is city-wide no homework night. That night, families are encouraged to stay home or get together with friends to play board games, tell old family stories, to read aloud. Middle school aged children are invited to Adopt a Grandparent at the San Carlos Elms. Adopt a Grandparent night will have activities set up for the students and elders to work on together, including helping the new grandparents to work iPads.
