What Did You Do With Your Baby Stuff?

bouncerI’m at the start of a new milestone.  It’s really one that my spouse should be more excited about since it mainly affects his domain…

the garage.

You see, I’ve hit that place in parenting where I know we are not having any more babies.  Therefore I can begin to surrender all of the baby stuff that’s been in the garage.

Lots of that stuff has been in use over these last seven months since we brought our baby girl, our third and last child, home from the hospital.  But now that she’s sitting and starting to be mobile, there’s things that I can get rid of.  Lots and lots of things.  Things that take up space.  That are collecting dust.  That help make this house look like it’s never clean because it’s always cluttered.

Things that do not need to be saved as keepsakes.  I’ve got a whole box of baby clothes from the two boys that are “keepsakes.”  At least for now.

The baby bouncy seat, the bumbo seat she always hated, the bassinet, the swaddlers, the clothes… all of those must go. Now.

I sold our old stroller on Craigslist.  It was such a terrible experience that I vowed I’d never do it again.

I’m not sure that I just want to give it all to charity.  At least, the idea of earning back a few dollars of cash on some of this stuff sounds appealing for now.  And, yes, I know that I can take a tax deduction… but that doesn’t have the same feeling.

I certainly don’t have the time to hold a garage sale.  I can’t imagine shipping this stuff a la eBay.

So I’m stuck.  With a closet full of baby items that either need to be sold, donated, or moved to the garage.

Tell me… What did you do with all your baby stuff?  Give it to a friend?  Drop it off a Goodwill?  Make a small fortune in a Craigstlist/eBay three ring circus?

Is there some Magical Land of Baby Things where all this stuff can go?
