Celebrate San Jose’s 236th birthday a few days early (because when you are that old, you don’t wait to celebrate) with birthday cake and hands-on activities for kids. The party is happening on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. at Peralta Adobe Historic Site to commemorate the Nov. 29, 1777 founding of the city.
Learn about early life in young San Jose, and celebrate with music, dancing, and storytelling. Admission and cake are free, activity tickets cost $1 per ticket, and tours of Adobe and Fallon House are $8/adult, $5/seniors and students, and free for kids under five. There are even special tours aimed at children happening on the hour from 1 – 3 p.m. Food is available for purchase at the San Pedro Market.
