Dig Up San Jose History this Saturday

stanford_digBecome a certified junior archaeologist this Saturday during a dig led by Stanford Archaeology Center students. The Stanford students will lead a mock excavation, screening, artifact identification and artifact reconstruction at History Park in Kelley Park, San Jose. The family program run through History San José, will demonstrate the basics of archaeology, while digging for relics of 19th century Chinese explorers and uncovering little known facts about early Chinatown in San Jose.

Kids participating in activities will earn stickers for their accomplishments and once complete, will be certified as a junior archaeologist.

The drop-in program is free and runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
