Smashburger has added a special shake this month – the Raspberry Sorbet Shake – to support breast cancer awareness by donating a portion of each shake purchased to Susan G. Komen. It’s a guilt-free, perfect reason to enjoy to shake.
We’d never been to Smashburger before, mostly because that while they are popping up around the Bay Area, there isn’t one conveniently close. While our town may not have one, grandma and grandpa’s town does, and that’s pretty much the same thing to my kids. We finally made a point to stop by to try out some milkshakes and snacks this weekend, and we left hoping that their next store opens in our town or at least on the mid-Peninsula.
We ordered the Raspberry Sorbet Shake, an Oreo milkshake, a Butterfinger milkshake, Veggie Frites, Smashfries, and Haystack Onions. Plus a glass of water, which normally isn’t worth mentioning, but I love when places have sliced lemons available and Smashburger did. The shakes were awesome, the Veggie Frites good, the onions great, but it was the Smashfries that were inhaled by our table. They have rosemary, olive oil, and garlic, and they were so light and flavorful – much different than the heavy garlic fries I’m used to (avoiding). If there wasn’t a line, we would have gotten a second order of Smashfries. They are so, so very good.
As he ate, my son declared this is favorite restaurant, and days later, we’re still talking about how much we loved Smashburger. Next visit, we will try the burgers, and judging by the amount of customers they had at a pre-dinner hour, the burgers must be good. They have a Veggie Black Bean burger that I definitely want to try.
Thank you to Smashburger Novato for hosting our visit. We will see you again soon.
