San Mateo Bacon and Brew Festival is happening this weekend, marrying two things loved by many people. Bacon and Brew runs from noon to 6 p.m. this Saturday in Central Park, and features a variety of beer makers, including locals like Devil’s Canyon and Warfighter (San Carlos). There will be loads of food vendors, music, and family-friendly entertainment, including Dr. Solar’s Medicine Show. Admission is free for kids 12 and under, and $10 for adults, which includes a free large beer, glass of wine or soft drink..
If bacon and beer aren’t your thing – or if you want to turn the day into a food fest crawl, as both locations are CalTrain accessible – head to Redwood City for the annual Salsa Festival. Admission is free, and there will be plenty of salsa tasting, tequila tasting, music, salsa dancing, and more. A children’s play area will include art projects and a bounce houses. The salsa festival runs from noon to 8 p.m. in the Courthouse Square.
