Soon after the movie The Blob appeared on my DVR recorded list, the movie appears to be spreading south. Enjoy this campy classic film during a Micro-Zoology Night this Saturday at Santa Teresa Park’s Historic Bernal Ranch. Before the film, experts will give a talk on micro-zoology, which will allow attendees to take a microscopic look into a droplet of water. If you want to continue drinking water, you may want to skip that part, but maybe we’re extra squimish.
The second part of the evening will be a screening of The Blob. Celebrate microbes gone mad with some popcorn under the stars. The Blob is a 1958 horror/sci-fi movie that featuring a growing amoeba-like alien from outer space that terrorizes a small community. It stars Steve McQueen.
Reservations are required by calling (408) 226-5453. The free event runs from 7:30 to 10 p.m.
