While we’re on the subject of Disneyland, we’ve been kicking around the idea of visiting during Halloween time. We’re still a few months away, and we won’t really know our fall schedule until soccer schedules come out in a few weeks, but with tickets for Mickey’s Halloween Party going on sale today, it’s at the forefront of our minds.
Many years ago we visited Disneyland during the first week of October and it was awesome. The weather was warm, if not hot, and the summer crowds had dwindled to a manageable size when you have a toddler in tow, which we did at the time. We missed Mickey’s Halloween Party because at the time, it wasn’t kicking off as early as it does now. We decided during that trip that October was the best time to visit Disneyland…until last year when we visited in mid-November.
A mid-November trip is perfection. Again, the weather is perfect and the crowd size is equally good, but the holiday decorations are out, lending to festive feelings, and more importantly, Christmas card photos. Celebrating the holidays at Disneyland is the best, we decided. But, can we accurately say that without making a real Halloween visit? Friends who have gone say it is incredibly fun. The photographer in me was sucked in by a photo on the Disney Parks site of a costumed child in the perfect warm fall light. It was the light that puts you in the moment.
Not to lie, this photo is also a key reason to visit during Halloween. No one does caramel apples better than Disney.
