The Union Army needs YOU! This weekend step back in time to the Civil War to witness a battle between the Union and Confederate army on a real, if not unusual, U.S. Army base at Camp Reynolds on Angel Island. Learn what it was to be a soldier in the Civil War, from food, to lodging, to battles with cannons and muskets blasting.
Civil War Days offers a unique opportunity to try a militia drill, baking Army bread, and other soldierly skills, while also making butter, trying patriotic arts and crafts, doll-making, rope-making, message decoding and more. The event is free, although the ferry to the island is not. Both days run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Picnics are encouraged.
