Have you tried the new Exploratorium yet? This Monday may be a good time to sneak in a visit because while the Exploratorium is normally closed on Mondays, they will be open this Memorial Day for special hours.
The new site on Pier 15 is three times larger than the old space, allowing more room for new exhibits, and more room for people. By increasing the number of exhibits and space, the goal is to reduce the feeling of being crowded and lower the wait to interact with different stations. Some of the exhibits are outside of the building, including the Skateboard Science Parklet, where you can learn about the physics, engineering, mechanics, technology and mathematics related to skateboarding, and the new Remote Rain, an interactive rainstorm.
The hours this Monday will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Normally admission prices apply.
