Los Altos has a great idea to keep all ages engaged in egg activities this Saturday. The city is hosting a traditional egg hunt for kids ages 10 and under, followed by an egg launch by kids ages 11-17.
Mr. Bun E. Rabbit will arrive at 9:30 a.m., with the egg hunt beginning at 10 a.m. on Hillview Soccer Field. A sing-a-long with Oklin Bloodworth is slated for just after the egg hunt frenzy settles, at 10:15 a.m.
Next up, watch teens and pre-teens launch eggs in devices they designed and built themselves, with the goal of having their egg survive the impact without cracking. (My kids’ school does a similar event in the spring, and it’s always fun and surprising to see which designs work best.) Participants had to register for the launch last Wednesday, which means if your teen missed the registration, it’s a great event to watch and get ideas for next year’s launch. The launch begins at 10:45 a.m.
Admission for the entire event is free.
