Redwood City Brings the Lunar New Year Celebration to You

by Kimberly Kauer on February 22, 2013

lion_dancer2011Okay, so they’re not bringing firecrackers and lion dancers to your house, but they are having a celebration easy parking  and less of a schlep to San Francisco in nearby Redwood City. The best thing is that it’s all free.

Celebrate the Year of the Snake this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Courthouse Square with arts and crafts for kids, and music, dancing, and more for everyone. The event will open with a lion dance, then feature an opening ceremony with Kristen Sze from ABC7. There will be martial arts demonstrations, taiko, a performance by the Red Panda Acrobats, and the day will end with a second lion dance.

A video of the 2011 celebration can be found on the Redwood City events website.
