If you build it, they will read.
Our local San Jose branch underwent a huge renovation a couple of years ago. The renovation not only brought technological enhancements into the library, it also gave the center a huge face-lift. Our library has become one of our favorite places. My toddler attends early childhood education classes there a few times a week. My oldest can get lost in the stacks picking out interesting books. And I absolutely love that the computers in the children’s area are set with parental controls.
This Saturday, the Seven Trees branch of the San Jose Public Library will re-open its doors after its own renovation and expansion. This 15,567 sq. ft. library will feature a living room with a fireplace, Tech Center, Group Study Rooms, a large quiet study room, Teen Room, a Family Learning Center, plus more seating, collections, and computers than the old library.
A free community celebration featuring a ceremonial ribbon cutting, entertainment and children’s activities begins at 11:00am on Saturday, January 26th. Immediately following the dedication ceremony, San Jose residents will be able to obtain library cards and enjoy full use of the library.
The Seven Trees branch is located at 3590 Cas Drive, San José.
