For the next four days, San Jose has transformed into Gymnastics City USA as the ity hosts the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials.  The U.S. Olympic Trials for gymnastics is one of the sport’s most prestigious events and brings with it unprecedented city-wide exposure, fanfare, and festivities.

To celebrate this amazing event in San Jose and the entire the Bay Area, a variety of community activities are scheduled leading up to the Trials and during competition week (many of them free!). Starting today with an Opening Ceremonies at Noon at the Arena Green adjacent to the HP Pavilion, the party continues through Sunday.

Starting on Friday, June 29 through Sunday, July 1, the Visa Fan Fest will be a great place to mingle and enjoy the activities, including the Road to London, Painting at the Park, the USA Gymnastics Fitness Zone, and other interactive activities, along with music, autographs, face painting, balloon art, gymnastics demonstrations and interviews with well-known gymnastics figures. The schedule is June 29, 3:30-5:30 p.m.; June 30, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.; and July 1, 3:30-5:30 p.m.

AT&T Block Party. The Arena Green will come alive after the competition on June 30 and July 1 with the AT&T Block Party with live entertainment, food and drink. In addition to well-known gymnasts, the members of the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team for gymnastics will be introduced on July 1.  The Block Parties will be held on Saturday, June 30, 3:00 – 8:00p.m. and Sunday, July 1 from 8:00 – 11:00p.m.
