Redwood City is Bringing Back Fireworks!

In past years, the cancelation of Fourth of July fireworks in Redwood City was the sad exclamation on a financially hard time. Redwood City is known for its small town, throw back style Fourth of July celebration with a parade involving everyone from Little Leaguers to the garbage company, all ending with a fabulous fireworks show at night. That is all back now following a two year break, with fireworks once again scheduled to rain down over the port.

The famous Redwood City parade begins at 10 a.m., with a slightly different route this year. Get there early for spots, and super early to snag a lucky spot under a tree.

We’re lucky enough to live in a neighborhood with a view of the fireworks, not from our house, but from a vista a few homes up. Other people head to the Port of Redwood City, Canada College (which has a fabulous view, with vistas far enough to make visible other fireworks shows around the bay), or other places around downtown. The show begins around 9:15 p.m., so get your seats and grab a blanket before then.
