The first rain out was March 17. I was rooting for it: a day without baseball and softball, that happened to be my birthday. It was lovely. The second rain out was March 21, which again opened our day in a positive way, but now the thought of make up games, and the complications of adding extra game days into our schedule, began to trouble me. This week, we have two softball games and one baseball game scheduled, not to mention three practices, all are in jeopardy as the forecast shows rain.
We need the rain, but I’m a little disgruntled that it didn’t come in January and February, as scheduled. The rain was late, now the sports seasons will go late too. Not the domino effect I want to experience. This means that in May, when the school year is winding down, which brings with it a bunch of year-end activities, we’ll be adding a few extra games into the mix.
