This Saturday is the final info clinic for The Tech Challenge 2012, bringing together teams of students in grades 5-12 to create a hands-on engineering plan to solve a real world problem. This year’s theme is Shake, Rattle, and Rescue, with the kids tasked to help save an earthquake survivor stranded on a collapsed bridge.
The goal of The Tech Challenge is to foster in kids skills of creativity, problem solving, design, teamwork, leadership, presentation, risk-taking, perseverance, and learning from failure. The Tech Challenge – in its 25th year – ends with a big event April 21. Information on the creative and judging process, along with how to register, is available at the challenge website.
