Easy Ways to Take Part in the MLK Day of Service

The kids have the day off Monday, and instead of spending it like another weekend day playing video games or with friends, why not take part in the Day of Service to honor Martin Luther King, Jr.? Myriad activities are occurring around the Bay Area, from easy-for-all-ages coat drives to helping organize the warehouse at Second Harvest (teens and up only).  Some of our favorites include: helping build Habitat for Humanity homes, homework help, habitat restortation, and litter pick ups. There is truly a project for every age group. For more information on ways to spend the Day of Service, enter your zip code on the Day of Service website and local opportunities will be displayed.
