Out and About for the Nov. 12 Weekend

Hit the trails and explore our national parks for free this weekend.  Veteran’s Day weekend is the last free weekend for national parks this year, which means it’s time to head north to Muir Woods.

While you’re in Marin, stick around after dark for NatureBridge’s Headlands Institute‘s The Night’s Sky Family Hike and Campfire the evening of Nov. 12. The hike is easy for all ages, includes a talk on the sky and stars above, and ends with a campfire, singing, and roasting marshmallows for s’mores. $12 per person.

Ready to get into the holiday spirit? Check out the 12 Days of Arthur Christmas kicking off this Saturday morning at San Francisco’s Union Square ice rink. The festivities continue around the Bay Area through Nov. 23.

Attention old school gamers! It’s National Gaming Day at various public libraries around the country this Saturday, locally happening at East San Jose Carnegie Library Branch, the Half Moon Bay Library, and the Fremont Main Library.
